Local food banks giving jobs to people who have been laid off
As more El Pasoans are out of work due to the closing of non-essential businesses, food pantries have been busy. “I am the head of the family I work overtime even to support my family and this hit is devastating,” Ian Meza said. Meza was like many El Pasoans in the restaurant industry, out of work because of the coronavirus. “Thank god this job came out because if not I don’t know how long I would last without a job,” Meza said.
